Do you need to be tested?
We are not performing any COVID tests or referrals at NewLife Fertility. If you have any symptoms please kindly contact Ontario Public Health emergency line or call 911 for emergency situations:
– You feel mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough
– If you have traveled in the last 21 days to an area known to be at high risk for COVID virus.
– You feel ill with mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, or difficulty breathing – especially if you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19
– If you have symptoms and have recently traveled outside Canada in the last 21 days, particularly to an area known to be at high risk for COVID-19.
How can I protect myself/my family from coronavirus?
Currently, there are no available vaccines to prevent COVID-19 but you can take few precautionary measures to prevent/slow it down
– Limiting your all non-essential social activities
– Avoid touching your nose, eyes, and mouth
– Following personal hygiene routines like washing your hands frequently with water and soap
– Cover your cough and avoid coughing on your hand.
– Throw away tissues and wipes after the use
– Avoid handshakes and close contact
– Please be mindful of the surfaces you touch and clean/sanitize them regularly.
– Don’t share food, plates, cutlery or glasses with others

Will COVID-19 affect fertility treatment outcomes?
According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine there is very little available knowledge known about the impact and effects of COVID 19 on reproduction and pregnancy. The data point is not enough to conclude any concrete decision.
With the limited information that we have, it is therefore advised that individuals with confirmed COVID19 infection should avoid the pregnancy and should not initiate fertility treatments.
We will be evaluating the information and changes and will update our FAQs accordingly.
